The Surf Club is your private online community built on the Heartbeat platform. Inside you’ll find daily surf forecasts, coaching tips, session analysis, surf camp updates, local guides from Ericeira, and 162+ surfers from around the world.

Download the
Heartbeat App
The Sea Krew Surf Club runs on Heartbeat — a community platform available as a free mobile app and on the web. We recommend the app for the best experience.
- Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Search for “Heartbeat Chat”
- Tap Download / Install — the app is free
- Wait for the download to finish, then open the app
You can also use the Surf Club from any browser at surfclub.seakrew.com — no download required. The app just gives you push notifications and a smoother mobile experience.
Open the
Surf Club
Go to our community page:
Open this link on your phone or computer. You’ll see our welcome page with information about the community.
Scroll down to see what’s inside before joining.
Create Your
Account
To join, you need to create a free account:
- On the welcome page, tap the “Join Now” button
- A sign-up form will appear
- Enter your full name
- Enter your email address
- Create a password (at least 8 characters)
- Tap “Sign Up”
Use the same email you used to book your surf camp — this helps us connect your membership.
Log In
Already have an account? Here’s how to log in:
- Go to surfclub.seakrew.com
- Tap “Log In” (below the Join Now button)
- Enter your email and password
- Tap “Log In”
Using the Heartbeat App? Open the app and tap “Log In”. Use the same email and password. You can also search for “Sea Krew” inside the app.
Tap “Forgot Password” on the login screen. Check your email (and spam folder) for a reset link.
Your Feed —
The Main Screen
Once logged in, you land on the Feed. This is the heart of the community — where all new posts, updates, and tips appear.
- Search bar at the top — find posts, members, or channels
- “Start typing…” box — create a new post
- Posts from the team — Monday Tips, surf advice, announcements
- Channel tags — each post shows which channel it belongs to
Go to the Intros channel and introduce yourself! Tell the community where you’re from, your surf level, and what brought you here.
The Sidebar
Menu
Tap the hamburger menu (three lines) at the top-left corner to open the sidebar. This is how you navigate the entire community.
Main Navigation:
Channels are grouped into sections below — you’ll see “Starter Here” and “Sea Krew Vibes” with different topic channels inside each.
Tap any item in the sidebar to jump to that section. Tap the X or swipe right to close the sidebar.

How to Create
a New Post
Ready to share something with the community? Here’s how to create your first post — whether it’s an intro, a question, a surf photo, or a tip.
From any Channel:
- Open a channel (e.g. Intros) from the sidebar
- At the top, you’ll see the “Start typing…” composer box
- Tap the box to start writing your post
- Type your message — you can write as much as you want
- Use the toolbar icons below to add extras
- When you’re done, tap the green “Post” button
Composer Toolbar:
Text Formatting
Bold, italic, headings, and more.
Attach Files
Upload photos, videos, or documents.
Voice & GIFs
Record voice notes or add GIFs.
From the Feed: You can also post directly from the Feed. Tap “Start typing…” and use the “Post in” selector to choose which channel your post goes to.
Head to the Intros channel and introduce yourself! Where are you from? What’s your surf level? What brought you to Sea Krew? The community loves welcoming new members.
How to Reply
& React
Engaging with other members’ posts is the best way to be part of the community. Here’s how:
Replying to a Post:
- Scroll through a channel or the Feed until you see a post
- Below each post, you’ll find a “Write a reply…” box
- Tap the box and type your reply
- Tap Send — it appears under the original post as a thread
Reacting to a Post:
- Below each post, you’ll see a small reaction icon (emoji picker)
- Tap it to choose an emoji — heart, thumbs up, fire
- Your reaction will appear under the post with a count
- Tap an existing reaction to add yours to the same emoji
Expanding a Post: If you see “Click to view the entire post” on a longer post, tap it to expand and read the full content.
Best Ways to Engage:
Welcome New Members
When someone posts in Intros, drop a friendly reply. A simple “Welcome!” goes a long way.
Reply to Monday Tips
Rui posts weekly surf tips. Reply with your experience or ask a follow-up question.
Share Surf Moments
Post photos and videos from your sessions in the Community Hub.
React with Emojis
Even a quick emoji reaction shows you appreciate the content. It takes one second.
Direct
Messages
Want to chat privately with another member or the Sea Krew team? Use Direct Messages.
- Tap the message icon in the sidebar or bottom navigation
- You’ll see a list of your conversations
- Tap the + icon at the top to start a new conversation
- Search for a member by name, select them, and start typing
You can also DM someone by tapping their profile photo on any post, then tapping “Message”.

Browse all 162+ members, see where they’re from, their surf level, and connect with surf buddies worldwide.
Matchups: Get automatically matched with other community members based on shared interests and surf level. A great way to meet new surf buddies.
Set Up
Notifications
Don’t miss important updates! Here’s how to turn on notifications:
On the Heartbeat App
- Open the Heartbeat app
- Tap your profile icon (bottom right)
- Tap “Notification Settings”
- Turn on “Push Notifications”
- Choose which channels to get notified about
On the Web Browser
- When you first log in, the browser may ask “Allow Notifications?” — tap Allow
- If you missed it, go to your browser settings and enable notifications for surfclub.seakrew.com
At minimum, turn on notifications for Announcements and Monday Tips so you never miss key updates.
Add to
Home Screen
If you’re using the web version instead of the app, add the Surf Club to your home screen for quick access:
iPhone (Safari)
- Open surfclub.seakrew.com in Safari
- Tap the Share icon (square with arrow)
- Scroll down, tap “Add to Home Screen”
- Tap “Add” — done!
Android (Chrome)
- Open surfclub.seakrew.com in Chrome
- Tap the three dots at the top right
- Tap “Add to Home screen”
- Tap “Add”
If you installed the Heartbeat app (Step 1), you don’t need this — the app is already on your home screen.
Common
Questions
Yes, the app is completely free to download. Your Surf Club membership may include free and premium tiers.
Both work perfectly. The app gives you push notifications and a native mobile experience. The website works on any device with a browser.
Open surfclub.seakrew.com in your browser first and sign up. After that, the community will automatically appear in your Heartbeat app.
Free channels and resources are available to all members. Premium content (Surf Camp Resources, Advanced Resources, Personal Coaching Vault) is available to paid members and surf camp guests.
Check your phone’s notification settings for the Heartbeat app. Make sure notifications are enabled in both your phone settings and inside the app.
Tap on any member’s profile photo, then tap “Message” to start a direct conversation.
Post in the Intros or Community Hub channel, DM any Sea Krew team member, or reach us on Instagram @seakrewexperiences.
