Most people who learn to surf on holiday never get past the whitewater. Two lessons, a great feeling, and then a year until the next trip. The Sea Krew Surf Club exists to fix that: a monthly membership built around regular coached sessions on the Ericeira coast, feedback that follows you between sessions, and a crew to surf with.
This article explains how it actually works, step by step, so you can decide whether it fits your ocean life before you look at the plans.

In short: you pick one of three tiers (Grom, Local or Captain), you get 2, 4 or 6 coached two-hour sessions a month plus video analysis, the Nazaré big wave tour, partner discounts and a private community. Three-month minimum, then cancel with 30 days’ notice. Board and wetsuit are always included.
Why a membership and not just lessons?
Surfing is a sport of repetition. A single lesson teaches you the movements; progression comes from doing them again, with someone watching, in different conditions. A membership makes that regular: you know your sessions are booked, your coach knows your surfing, and every correction builds on the last one instead of starting from zero.
It also changes the social side. People who surf with the same group tend to keep surfing. That is the whole idea behind the word “club”.
Step 1 — Pick your tier
There are three tiers, paid monthly or annually (annual saves the equivalent of two months):

Step 2 — The coached sessions
Every session is two hours with an FPS and IPDJ certified coach, in a small group matched to your level. The spot is decided on the morning: Ericeira and Santa Cruz offer sandy beginner beaches and more demanding reef and point breaks, so there is almost always an option that fits the swell, the wind and the people in the water. Board and wetsuit are included in every tier.
You book sessions in the member app, and priority booking means members get first access to the best windows.
Step 3 — Feedback that follows you: video analysis and the Session Blueprint
Local and Captain members get a video analysis session every month. We film you, sit down with the footage and break down the one or two things that will make the biggest difference next time. Captain members also get a personal progression plan.
The feedback lives in the member portal as a Session Blueprint: coach notes, what worked, what to fix, and the focus for the next lesson. You get a notification when it is ready, and it stays there, so six months in you can look back and see how far you have come.
Step 4 — Beyond the lineup: Nazaré, spot reports and partner perks
Every Monday members receive the Spot Report: where the week’s waves are likely to be and what to expect for your level. In big wave season (October to April) members can join the Nazaré Tour and stand on the cliff beside the Nexus Nazaré spotter, the same vantage point the professional teams use, with a local culture tour and return transport from Ericeira. Captain members add a one-hour jetski tour of the Nazaré coastline with a professional surfer.
Across Ericeira and Nazaré, members also get discounts at partner surf shops, restaurants, accommodation and wellness studios: 5%, 10% or 15% depending on the tier, with the full list in the member app.
Step 5 — The crew
Members join a private community, get invited to events on the coast — sunset sessions, ocean cleans, BBQs — and receive photos from their sessions, like the ones in this article. Captain members get a direct line to Rui and their name on the Hall of Krew.
How to join
Choose your tier and pay securely online (three-month minimum, monthly or annual). Within 24 hours you receive your member card, community access and your first Spot Report. Then you book your first session and hit the water. If you would rather try before committing, book a Discovery Session first: it is credited towards your membership if you join within 48 hours.

What level do I need to join the Surf Club?
All levels are welcome. Sessions are matched to your level, from first-timers in the whitewater to intermediates working on green waves and turns.
Can I cancel the membership?
Yes. There is a three-month minimum commitment, after which you can cancel with 30 days’ notice. No hidden fees.
Is equipment included?
Yes. Board and wetsuit are included in every tier and every session.
When can I use the Nazaré Tour?
The tour runs from October to April, in big wave season. Annual members can use it from month one; monthly members unlock it in their final quarter. Tours need at least two participants, and solo members are paired up.
I only visit Portugal a few weeks a year. Does it make sense?
